Obverse: Bearded Hercules half-naked, standing facing forward with the lion's skin on his left shoulder, a paw of the Nemean lion, on his arm and around his waist the lion's skin, behind his legs the lion's tail and paws, uniting Liberty standing on the left turned to the right holding a spear topped with a Phrygian cap, dressed in a peplos, and Equality standing on the right turned to the left, holding a level, dressed in a chiton; at the exergue Dupré signed in cursive between two points. Reverse: 5 francs 1996 in three lines, all contained within a wreath composed on the left of a laurel branch, on the right of an oak branch with a large final leaf (two inner acorns at the top of the right branch, one acorn on the outside at the bottom of this branch), tied at their base by a ribbon; below, a cornucopia and a bee.
