In 1998, the Currency of Paris, emits this coin of 2 francs to celebrate the fifty years of the adoption by UNO of the Universal declaration of the human rights and to pay homage to René Cassin, one of his principal writers and Nobel Prize of peace 1968.Dessiné by the Workshop of the Currencies and Médailles, the avers represents a portrait of right profile of René Cassin, its signature, the inscription “Universal declaration of the Human rights” on three lines and a sight of the frontage of the palate of Chaillot, place where the Declaration was signed. The reverse carries in its center a representation of a terrestrial sphere marking the universality of the Declaration and under which two intersected palms are placed.
