Bangladesh's central bank was founded in 1971 after the country's liberation war that led to the independence of Bangladesh. The central bank is a member of the Asian Clearing Union, an organization aiming to secure monetary transactions between all member states (Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, etc.).
